The Clinical Nursing Instructor is accountable to the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing and works in collaboration with other faculty team members.
The Clinical Instructor is responsible for planning, implementation, and evaluation of student practice in the clinical setting both on and off campus as well as in the simulation laboratory to achieve course objectives and student learning outcomes.
Clinical supervision of the assigned group(s) of students in the clinical and laboratory settings shall include but is not limited to:
observation and guidance of student performance, review of principles of procedures with appropriate remediation as necessary, and weekly evaluation of students' performance both verbally and written.
Faculty Position Requirements Provides clinical and simulation laboratory instruction Arranges with clinical site orientation to facility and assigned clinical area Prepares and posts weekly clinical assignments Develop critical thinking experiences and activities throughout the clinical day to meet daily course objectives in addition to providing clinically supportive activities during pre and post-conference sessions Maintains weekly records of students' progress and formally evaluates student's individual progression through the course Maintains clinical expertise and serves as a professional nursing role model for students Required Qualifications Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a regionally accredited institution of higher education - MSN preferred Active Registered Nurse License (RN) issued by the State of New Jersey Ability to document immunizations as required by clinical sites Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience At least two years of recent clinical experience Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing Ability to lead professional teams with diverse educational backgrounds Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
